- The railroad takes up a triangular footprint of approximately 25’ x 25’, totaling just over 300 square feet
- There is approximately 130’ of track in a folded dog-bone layout
- There is an approximate 3% grade throughout the railroad
- There are currently six buildings on the layout, with another 4 planned for “phase one – Fantasyland”
- Buildings are inspired by the original Disneyland in Anaheim California. They are closely (but not identical) modeled after the 1983 Fantasyland
- The majority of buildings are constructed of precision board high-density urethane (HDU) a product that can be machined like wood but lasts 10x longer and will not rot, peel, warp, crack or absorb moisture. It is UV resistant when properly primed, painted and sealed
- 3D printed details are first rendered on 123DDesign, and then printed on a public-access gCreate gMax1.5+ 3D printer using 1.75 mm Polylactic Acid (PLA) filament
- Other elements of the railroad, including bridges, viaducts and even mountains are constructed by pink extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation board, which is than painted and sealed
- The track rests on a ladder system, with PVC legs that are embedded 32” – 36” into the ground to help prevent freeze/thaw heaving of the track bed
- The train stock is “off the shelf” but has been modified to run off of battery power. Someday, the locomotive and other rolling stock will be painted to more closely resemble the trains seen in the Disneyland park
